FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Foss Manufacturing To Be Featured on 21st Century Business Television Series May 12, 2012

HAMPTON, NH (May 11, 2012) — Multi-Media Productions (USA), Inc. is pleased to announce that Foss Manufacturing will be featured on 21st Century Business on the Fox Business Network (as paid programming).

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) MRSA was responsible for an estimated 94,000 invasive life-threatening infections and close to 19,000 deaths (more than AIDS) in 2005 and deaths from bacterial infections are on the rise. Healthcare workers are also at risk.

Foss Manufacturing introduces Fosshield® – a revolutionary new antimicrobial technology made in the USA. Studies have shown, the patented Fosshield® technology inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold, mildew, and fungus in a variety fabrics, polymers, and rubber materials with long-lasting protection.

Unlike antimicrobial agents that are applied via topical chemical coatings or include actual metals, the patented, non-leaching, and ion-based antimicrobial technology in Fosshield® is blended right into the fabric, polymer, or rubber.

As the active antibacterial agent in the SpectraShield™ 9500 N95 surgical respirator mask, Fosshield® was found to be safe when used in the breathing zone (offgassing) and against the skin (non-transdermal). The FDA tests of the mask also found Fosshield® technology to be non-leaching, while posing no risk to users or the environment. The SpectraShield™ mask has FDA 510K clearance and NIOSH approval, making it the first and only antibacterial respirator mask of its kind to achieve FDA clearance in the United States.

What’s more, Fosshield® is made from Foss Manufacturing’s own Eco-fi™ fiber, which is originated from 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.

Because of its versatility, Fosshield® is uniquely suited for a broad range of applications in addition to healthcare, including: apparel and footwear, home and hospitality, filtration, educational facilities, wall coverings, and transportation.

JL Haber, vice president of programming at Multi Media Productions, added, “Foss Manufacturing is a leader in their industry. They are a natural fit for our show. We are excited to have them as a guest on our program.”

Foss surgical respirator mask, with recent FDA 510K clearance and NIOSH approval, wins New Hampshire High Technology Council 2011 Product of the Year.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HAMPTON, New Hampshire (November 18, 2011) –– Foss Manufacturing, a leading innovator and pioneer in the specialty fibers, non-woven and needle-punch fabrics industry, announced today that the SpectraShield™ 9500 Surgical N95 Respirator Mask won the New Hampshire High Technology Council’s 2011 Product of the Year honor.

The mask’s antimicrobial effectiveness is powered by Fosshield® featuring Sciessent’s Agion® antimicrobial technology — a first-of-its-kind, safe and natural antimicrobial. The SpectraShield™ mask has FDA 510K clearance and NIOSH approval, making it the first and only antibacterial respirator mask of its kind to achieve FDA clearance in the United States.

Unlike antimicrobial agents that are applied via topical chemical coatings or include actual metals, the patented, non-leaching and non-metallic antimicrobial technology in Fosshield® is blended right into the fabric. Fosshield® fiber is the first and only antimicrobial technology to successfully use a balance of silver and copper ions in a fiber.

The key to the respirator mask’s effectiveness is the unique combination of silver and copper ions in Fosshield®. The Fosshield® ions are given a positive charge to bind to a microbes’ ion charged surface. Thus, Fosshield® ions attract any microbe that may be present on the fiber and disable their critical functions (metabolism, respiration, and reproduction).

With this silver and copper ion fiber system, the Nexera Medical, Inc. SpectraShield™ mask has also gained European CE clearance as an FFP2 and FFP3 antiviral respirator offering 14 days of reusability opposed to the three to four hours offered by other masks currently available on the market.

The durable SpectraShield™ mask eliminates 99.99 percent of bacteria on the treated surface within one hour and certain strains of harmful bacteria on contact before they

can enter the body, including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Streptococcus.

This next generation respirator mask meets CDC and WHO guidelines for infectious disease exposure control, is ideal for pandemic preparedness and gives healthcare workers the best available long-duration protection against infectious diseases, especially Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAIs).

“The SpectraShield™ mask with Fosshield® is unlike any other respirator mask ever created and is truly an example of disruptive, game changing technology,” said A.J. Nassar, chief executive officer, Foss Manufacturing Company. “With FDA clearance and NIOSH approval, we are fully confident in the mask’s ability to protect people from the world’s most dangerous microbes. What’s more, Fosshield® is a technology with enormous potential; and we are currently working to bring its microbe-fighting power beyond the SpectraShield™ mask to many other products across several markets, including automotive, apparel, building, and hospitality.”

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, (November 3, 2011) – Nexera Medical, a leading developer of microbe-fighting textile-based healthcare products, receives EN 149: 2001 approval for its SpectraShield™ FFP3 RD and FFP2 RD Reusable Antimicrobial respirator masks from INSPEC International Ltd., a European Union certified testing facility located in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom. The tests were performed on the SpectraShield™ FFP3 RD and FFP2 RD in simulation of the practical use of the apparatus for reusability, including the initial “clogging test” using dolomite dust to emulate severe real-time conditions for a user. The dolomite testing method is exclusively used for measuring filtration performance for determining reusable efficiency. Both, the FFP2 RD and FFP3 RD masks met all of the filtration, inhalation, and exhalation requirements specific to each category of mask and met all the requirements for effective antimicrobial performance to earn both the reusable and antimicrobial classification for these masks. The “RD” after the FFP2 or FFP3 designates its reusability status earned by the “dolomite” testing method.

The SpectraShield™ mask begins to inactivate or kill certain strains of viruses and bacteria immediately on contact and continuously kills or inactivates over long periods of time. This revolutionary next generation mask is designed to give the general public, health officials, first responders, and care givers the best available protection against infectious diseases. The antimicrobial aspects were recognized by the test results received from the Health Protection Agency against bacteria on November 8, 2008 and from RetroScreen Virology Ltd. against viruses on January 22, 2009.

Considered as the next generation respirator masks, these are the first ever FFP2 RD or FFP3 RD masks to receive both a reusable and an antimicrobial designation, differentiating them from all other respirator masks in the market, as they are reusable for periods of up to 14 days. These SpectraShield™ masks stand alone as the only reusable antimicrobially-protected respirator masks for the healthcare industry. Paul Sallarulo, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated; “Receiving this approval and CE Mark for the SpectraShield™ FFP2 RD and FFP3 RD continues our long-term objective of developing products designed to save lives and protect people in a widespread health crisis.” Furthermore, he says; “We understand the need for governments and public health officials to have access to cutting edge technology that will help them prepare for and respond to future disease outbreaks and/or pandemics.”

SpectraShield™ masks are manufactured using a patented technology of Fosshield® antimicrobial fibers used in the mask, which incorporate non-toxic silver-copper ionic agents that are proven safe and effective for extended contact with individuals. Due to SpectraShield™ antimicrobial properties, the SpectraShield™ FFP2 RD and FFP3 RD masks continuously self-sanitizes themselves for extended or repeat use.

The SpectraShield™ FFP2 RD and FFP3 RD will be marketed through independent medical product distributors throughout Europe and neighboring countries as the “GUARDIAN” model.

SpectraShield™ is a registered trademark of Nexera Medical, Inc.

“Contagion” Scenario: Nexera Medical On Leading Edge Of Airborne Microbe Protection With Its Next Generation Surgical Respirator Mask

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: James Morrell
Office: +1 (954)-495-2020

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (September 14, 2011) – Last Friday, September 9th, the movie “Contagion” hit theaters with its story built around an airborne virus that quickly becomes a global pandemic and decimates mankind. While the level of outbreak in the movie is certainly a worst-case scenario, recent outbreaks of the swine and bird flu have shown that airborne viruses are a real threat.

Currently, the medical community is working to identify, understand and stop existing and emerging airborne pathogenic microbes, however, one of the best ways to protect oneself from airborne microbe threats is to prevent the microbes from entering one’s respiratory system in the first place.

Aside from frequent hand washing, staying away from crowds and avoiding people who are sick, wearing a respirator facemask is one of the most affordable and easiest ways to limit the spread of harmful airborne microbes. Wearing respirators is part of the protocol designed by the WHO and CDC to protect people against harmful airborne diseases, and respirators are an integral part of Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”) as described by medical professionals.

On September 8th, Nexera Medical, Inc. (“Nexera”) announced plans to submit to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) amended antimicrobial claims for its current 510(k) clearance for the SpectraShield™ 9500 Surgical N95 Respirator with embedded antimicrobial technology. The expanded antimicrobial claims will be supported by test data on the inactivation performance of certain strains of viruses recognized by the FDA to cause various types of influenzas and colds considered public health issues, including the H1N1 (Swine Flu) Virus, H5N1 (Bird Flu) Virus, Rhino Virus (common cold), and SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome).

These tests are very similar to those tests that have already been conducted by Nexera in the European Union. There, the SpectraShield™ Respirator Mask demonstrated its ability to kill these strains of viruses and was certified as an antimicrobial FFP3 respirator mask and has been issued a CE Mark by INSPEC, the applicable jurisdictional agency to certify Class II Medical Devices in the European Union. Additionally, Nexera has pending approval of two additional SpectraShield™ respirator masks as Reusable FFP2 and Reusable FFP3 antimicrobial respirators masks, the first and only masks of their kind in the world. These masks are planned to be commercially available by the end of October in the European Union and other countries that accept or recognize the CE Mark.

In March 2011, the company announced that its SpectraShield™ 9500 Surgical N95 Surgical Respirator Mask with embedded antimicrobial technology became the first antibacterial respirator mask to receive FDA 510K and NIOSH clearance for the commercial market. The SpectraShieldTM Respirator begins to kill certain strains of bacteria, including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Streptococcus, and other harmful and deadly bacteria immediately on contact.

Nexera’s president, Paul Sallarulo, stated, “We are pleased to continue take the necessary steps to provide people with the best antimicrobial technology and best respiratory protection available today.” He added, “People have very little protection in the event of a healthcare crisis involving airborne pathogens, and our SpectraShield™ Respirator can provide a person with the highest degree of protection.”

The SpectraShield™ Respirator is designed to capture harmful germs and kill them when they are on the surface of the mask. The respirator also traps and kills any additional germs in the middle filtration layers to prevent them from entering the body and causing an infection. The SpectraShield™ Respirator utilizes a revolutionary antimicrobial technology called Fosshield®, made in the USA by Foss Manufacturing. This antimicrobial technology is currently in use in many industries from hospitality, to healthcare, to apparel.

The SpectraShieldTM Respirator is available in adult sizes. This revolutionary next generation respirator is designed to give the general public, health officials, first responders, and care givers the best available protection against infectious diseases.

Nexera plans to roll out a portfolio of other infectious disease preventing textile-based healthcare products made from Fosshield® technology, including other types of surgical and dental masks, mattress pads and covers, warming blankets, hospital uniforms, lab coats, wound care products, and hospital divider curtains to name a few. All of these solutions are designed to assist hospitals in controlling or reducing “hospital acquired infections.” This revolutionary Fosshield® fiber technology is ideally suited for infectious disease prevention, thereby assists in reducing the spread of infectious diseases in any environment.

NEXERA MEDICAL, INC. ANNOUNCES THAT IT PLANS TO SUBMIT NEW DATA TO THE U.S. FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION (FDA) TO AMEND ITS CURRENT 510K MEDICAL DEVICE CLEARANCE TO INCLUDE CERTAIN STRAINS OF VIRUSES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: James Morrell
Office: +1 (954)-495-2020

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (September 8, 2011) – Nexera Medical, Inc. (“Nexera”), today announced plans to submit to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) amended antimicrobial claims for its current 510(k) clearance for the SpectraShield™ 9500 Surgical N95 Respirator with embedded antimicrobial technology. The expanded antimicrobial claims will be supported by test data on the inactivation performance of certain strains of viruses. These tests will be performed at independent laboratories utilizing viral protocols recognized by the FDA on strains of viruses that cause various types of influenzas and colds. The strains of viruses that are planned to be tested are viruses considered public health issues, including the H1N1 (Swine Flu) Virus, H5N1 (Bird Flu) Virus, Rhino Virus (common cold), and SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome).
These tests are essentially similar to those tests that have already been conducted by Nexera in the European Union where the SpectraShield™ surgical respirator mask demonstrated its ability to kill these strains of viruses. The SpectraShield™ mask was certified in March 2009 in the European Union as an antimicrobial FFP3 respirator mask and has been issued a CE Mark by INSPEC, the applicable jurisdictional agency to certify Class II Medical Devices in the European Union. Nexera has already received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for the SpectraShield™ Mask as an N95 Antibacterial Surgical Respirator, which kills certain bacteria within one hour up to 99.99 percent, including MRSA (Staph infections, or Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus), Streptococcus Pyogenes, and Haemophilus Influenzae.
The planned 510(k) amended filing is based on the positive findings from Nexera’s viral testing performance in the European Union that indicated substantial inactivation of these mentioned viruses.

Nexera’s president, Paul Sallarulo stated, “We are pleased to announce our plans to amend the claims for the SpectraShield™ Mask in our amended 510(k) filing, and that we are continuing down this regulatory pathway to clear the best antimicrobial technology and the best respiratory protection for people.” He added, “People have very little protection in the event of a healthcare crisis involving airborne pathogens, and our SpectraShield™ Mask can provide a person with the highest degree of protection.”

The SpectraShield Mask is designed to capture harmful germs and kill them when they are on the surface of the mask. The mask also traps and kills any additional germs in the middle filtration layers to prevent them from entering the body and causing an infection. The SpectraShield Mask utilizes a revolutionary antimicrobial technology called Fosshield®, made in the USA by Foss Manufacturing. This antimicrobial technology is currently in use in many industries from hospitality, to healthcare, to apparel.

Nexera plans to roll out a portfolio of other textile-based healthcare products made from Fosshield® technology, including other types of surgical and dental masks, mattress pads and covers, warming blankets, hospital uniforms, lab coats, wound care products, and hospital divider curtains to name a few. All of these solutions are designed to assist hospitals in controlling or reducing “hospital acquired infections.” This revolutionary Fosshield® fiber technology is ideally suited for infectious disease prevention, thereby assists in reducing the spread of infectious diseases in any environment.

KEEPING IT CLEAN: XENTRIS WIRELESS INTRODUCES HIGH GLOSS MOBILE PHONE COVERS WITH FOSSHIELD® ANTIMICROBIAL TECHNOLOGY

ORLANDO, FL – March 21, 2011 – International CTIA Wireless 2011 (Xentris Wireless Booth #4264) – Xentris Wireless, a leading manufacturer and distributor of wireless accessories, has introduced a line of high gloss mobile phone covers featuring Fosshield® antimicrobial technology.

These stylish and colorful protective covers feature built-in antimicrobial protection that inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria, viruses, mold, mildew and fungi. The antimicrobial protection will not wash off or wear away, offering protection that lasts the lifetime of the product.

Fosshield® antimicrobial technology is unlike any other antimicrobial agent on the market. While other antimicrobials are applied via topical coatings or include actual metals, the patented antimicrobial technology in Fosshield® uses a silver and copper ion system to deliver effective and permanent protection from microbes with no risk to humans or pets or impact on the environment. Furthermore, Fosshield® can be blended into almost any fabric or polymer from cotton to nylon or PVC to ABS without changing their characteristics. This is the same Fosshield® technology that is used in the recently FDA cleared SpectraShield™ 9500 Surgical N95 Respirator Mask that was deemed 99.99% effective against certain bacteria.

Independent test results show Fosshield® has a 99.9% kill rate against many bacterial and viral strains such as Pneumonia, MRSA, Rhino virus, Influenza “A”, Swine Flu, Salmonella and the Norwalk virus.

“We are thrilled to partner with Foss Manufacturing, the maker of Fosshield®, to bring this innovative product line to market,” said Bill Christy, CEO of Xentris Wireless. “These covers will not only protect the phone from bumps and scratches, but it will help protect the user from bacteria and viruses.”

A.J. Nassar, CEO of Foss Manufacturing, added, “Fosshield® has proven to be safe and effective in a medical device with the FDA clearance of the SpectraShield™ mask. We have taken everything we learned there into our partnership with Xentris Wireless and the development of these antimicrobial cell phone covers.”

These high gloss covers provide durable protection against scratches, accidental drops and everyday use. Offering the look of a hard snap on case, with the flexibility of a silicone cover, these cases offer a smooth, low profile design that is ideal for the pocket handset carrier.

The antimicrobial high gloss covers are currently available in a variety of colors for the Apple® iPhone® 4, HTC EVO™, BlackBerry® Curve™ 3G and LG Vortex™ through Xentris Wireless for an MSRP of $19.99.

Foss Manufacturing Unveils New Fosshield® Antimicrobial Technology in Nexera Medical’s SpectraShield™ Respirator Mask

Surgical respirator mask, with recent FDA 510K clearance and NIOSH approval, eliminates 99.99 percent of bacteria, including MRSA

HAMPTON, New Hampshire (March 9, 2011) – Foss Manufacturing, a leading innovator and pioneer in the specialty fibers, non-woven and needle-punch fabrics industry, announced today that its one-of-a-kind, safe and natural Fosshield® Antimicrobial Technology is now available to the commercial market and has been selected by Nexera Medical as the antibacterial technology in its new SpectraShield™ 9500 Surgical N95 Respirator Mask. The SpectraShield™ 9500 Surgical N95 Respirator Mask recently received FDA 510K clearance and NIOSH approval, making it the first antibacterial respirator mask of its kind to achieve FDA clearance in the United States.

Unlike other antimicrobial agents that are applied via topical coatings or include actual metals, the patented antimicrobial technology in Fosshield® uses a silver and copper ion fiber system to deliver effective and permanent protection from microbes with no risks to humans or impact on the environment. The antimicrobial silver and copper ions effectively and continuously attack the microbes, and the Fosshield® fiber can be blended into almost any fabric from cotton to nylon without changing its characteristics.

Harnessing the power of Fosshield®, the durable SpectraShield™ mask is 99.99 percent effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria — including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). It is designed for use in surgical and medical settings and by first responders and the general public during emergency events such as a disease outbreak or full-scale pandemic.

“We are very pleased with the FDA’s and NIOSH’s recent commercial clearance of Nexera’s SpectraShield™ mask, which we believe validates our Fosshield® technology’s ability to protect people from harmful germs, including some of the world’s most dangerous strains of bacteria,” said A.J. Nassar, chief executive officer, Foss Manufacturing Company. “Fosshield® is a technology with enormous potential, and we are currently working to bring its microbe-fighting power beyond the SpectraShield™ mask to many other products across several markets, including automotive, apparel, building, and hospitality.”
